Waterfront
This £130m business, housing and leisure development around Manvers Lake, in Rotherham, is forecast to create up to 1,500 jobs. The project, from developers TCN UK, is set to regenerate about 285 acres (113 hectares) just minutes from Junction 36 of the M1 motorway and the A1(M) and M18. The work should be completed in 2010.

Rotherham Council is offering rental contributions to small independent niche traders looking to open a retail or leisure business in Rotherham town centre. The grants offer 50% towards rent in the first year and 25% in the second, plus help towards shop fitting costs.
There is more than 55,000 sq m (over 600,000 sq ft) of commercial floor space, housing over 300 national and independent retailers.
The town centre benefits from being mostly pedestrianised, and offers competitive costs for car parking, in comparison to neighbouring towns.
