Stoke-on-Trent is next to the M6, has easy access to the M1, is equidistant from Merseyside, Manchester and Birmingham, and is 90 minutes from London by train.
It is part of the North Staffordshire city-region (population 457,000, with 14,000 businesses, employing approximately 200,000 people). A million people are within a 45 minute drive and the city is within an hour's drive of three international airports.
The area has two universities, Staffordshire and Keele. It is a world centre for the ceramic industry, and has a skilled and adaptable workforce with strengths in design, ceramics, engineering, materials processing and logistics.
