The ports of Liverpool and Bristol can both be reached in approximately two hours – two of the busiest ports in the UK.
Additionally, three British Waterways canals run through the county: the Shropshire Union Canal, the Llangollen, and the Montgomery Canal. The Llangollen and Montgomery canals branch from the Shropshire Union Canal and lie partially in Wales.
The Shropshire Union Canal also travels through Staffordshire, and Cheshire, linking at Wolverhampton to the West Midlands canal system with the River Mersey and Manchester Ship Canal at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire.
