Key Competitive Attractions

South Hams has over 5,000 businesses, predominately small and medium sized, within its juristiction. The larger businesses tend to be in the West of the district, close to Plymouth and the A38 Devon Expressway.

The area has excellent road transport links to London, the South West and the rest of the UK via the M5 motorway.  The main rail network is accessible at Plymouth, Totnes, and Newton Abbot and both Exeter International and Plymouth airports are within easy reach.

Business confidence is high in the area, reinforced by the area's low unemployment rate.  The Council actively encourages investment and new enterprise to the area and facilitates the growth of existing and established businesses.
