With a population of 252,800 and a further 220,300 in the surrounding area, Plymouth has an ambitious growth agenda to increase its population to 300,000 and create 42,500 new jobs by 2026 particularly within its priority sectors.

Grant for Business Investment is available to qualifying companies whilst the University of Plymouth, one of the top three modern universities in the UK with a mission to become the enterprise university, contributes to the city`s strengths in research and development and knowledge transfer through links to partners including Tamar Science Park and Plymouth Marine Sciences Partnership.

The city`s plans for economic growth are driven by Plymouth City Development Company, a partnership organisation supported by Plymouth City Council, South West RDA and Homes and Communities Agency.
