The Thames Gateway is a strong and effective public partnership, working closely with the private sector and other public-private partnerships. It is committed to the physical and economic growth of the area.
Thames Gateway is represented by 11 local authorities on both sides of the river in East London, and by eight local universities, the local Learning and Skills Council and the Strategic Health Authority. It is a strategic and lobbying organisation and not a delivery body; delivery is carried out by other agencies such as the Homes and Communities Agency, the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, our partner boroughs, companies in the private sector and other public bodies.
