Key Competitive Attractions
The South Ayrshire economy benefits from both a strong manufacturing sector and a well developed service sector. However, whilst there is a thriving small business community there is still great potential for the growth of small and medium sized enterprises.
As with other areas, some of the more traditional market sectors, such as textiles, coal mining and fishing have declined and the economy is now moving into new market areas and striving to improve the performance of local industry to ensure it remains competitive in the wider marketplace.
The Council is keen to assist with the growth and development of new and existing business and further develop the skills of the local workforce and offers a range of advice and incentives to this end.
