International attention has recently focused on Orkney as a world hub in the marine renewable energy industry. Home to the European Marine Energy Centre, port infrastructure is continually being developed and supply chain businesses expanding and locating in Orkney in order to service this growing new global industry.
The local Business Gateway can provide advice on business start-up, growth, or re-locating to Orkney and financial support might be available via the Council’s established schemes of assistance. Business accommodation and/or serviced industrial sites may also be available to rent.
Getting here is easy with a choice of three vehicle ferry routes and direct air services to Inverness, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
