Argyll and Bute stretches over 100 miles of dramatic terrain and boasts 2,700 miles of stunning coastline. The area has 6 main towns, 25 inhabited islands, and yet is within just a couple of hours' journey time of both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The Council provides resources for grants and contacts, and offers a monthly bulletin, ALERT, with the latest funding information and deadlines. The area is presently enjoying a £30m regeneration, distributed among the towns of Rothesay, Campbeltown, Helensburgh, Oban and Dunoon, to facilitate economic growth.
This will improve infrastructure and road links, develop Campbeltown marina, redevelop Dunoon Pier, restore conservation and heritage sites, redevelop the Oban esplanade, encourage plans for a more efficient yacht haven in Oban Bay and transform the respective town centres.
