Ballymoney is in a central north-east location at the heart of the North East of Northern Ireland`s infrastructure. It is located on the main Northern Corridor (A26) road, on the rail link between the 2 main NI cities, and within 30 to 50 miles of all the main NI ports and airports. Ballymoney Borough Council area was also the first council area with total broadband internet coverage.

Ballymoney is designated as an area that can support and maintain sustainable growth with a mobile, wide-ranging workforce. It has an expanding population, a low level of crime (½ to 2/3 the NI average), schoolchildren are performing better than the NI average and quality of life indicators are excellent.
