Rail services within the region are fast and efficient, served by four railway stations – Runcorn, Runcorn East, Hough Green and Widnes.There is an hourly service between Liverpool Lime Street and London Euston and two services per hour run between Liverpool, Crewe and Birmingham New Street, operated by London Midland.
Runcorn East serves the eastern suburbs of Runcorn and the surrounding area. The station is served by hourly Arriva Trains to Manchester Piccadilly via Warrington Bank Quay.
