Daresbury SIC is a leader in UK supercomputing and high performance and distributed computing & data services. The Computational Science & Engineering Department (CSED) specialises in theoretical and computational science communities across the academic and industrial spheres. The department is globally renowned for the modelling and design of microfluidic devices.
More than 60 computational scientists are working in the department, developing high-performance applications in key areas of molecular simulation, quantum chemistry, solid-state physics, engineering, environmental simulations and materials simulation.
Through the DAComS service, these scientists, can conduct advanced simulation in science and engineering, with the unique advantage of access HPCx – the second largest academic high end computing (HEC) facility in the world, (the largest in Europe).
