Darlington Borough Council
Key Competitive Attractions
Darlington is important as a sub-regional employment, retail and cultural centre. It also provides key transport links through its location on the A1(M), East Coast Main Railway Line and Durham Tees Valley Airport. Its location, together with its market town environment, enables Darlington to attract the financial, business and logistics sectors.
There is a lot of new development in Darlington and the town is attracting new businesses to its established business parks such as Lingfield Point, Morton Park and Faverdale. More recent developments are West Park and Central Park. The new Eastern Transport Corridor has improved transport links across town and to Teesside.
