Northumberland County Council - Development Projects
The Vision of a Successful Northumberland
Northumberland recently completed an economic assessment of the county. This has provided a vision of the county for the future. By 2020 Northumberland will have built an economy which is more diverse, but also boasting specialisms in key areas. Local business will be well integrated into the global economy and will supply economies all over the world. The size of the business stock will be expanded significantly and this will be caused, in part, by an increased number of lifestyle businesses and satellite companies, servicing the county’s global businesses.
Northumberland is currently preparing a new Economic Strategy to be finalised by March 2010 and providing the right conditions for business growth is a key element of this strategy.
Our aim is to ensure that businesses are attracted by the county’s pool of highly skilled workers, and the quality of the local area that can provide a high standard of living to suit a variety of needs.
