Havering benefits from an excellent location close to both Stanstead airport and central London, and aided by good road links to the ports of Dover and Harwich the area has a strong local economy with over 7000 businesses currently located in the borough.
There will soon be even more opportunity for business investment, with London's largest development, the Thames Gateway, virtually on the doorstep of the borough.
The council are keen to assist the economic regeneration effort by increasing employment and encouraging business growth and general investment in the area. The council works with various partners to develop and deliver a variety of initiatives aimed to benefit the community as a whole.
