The Thames Gateway is a strong and effective public partnership which works closely with the private sector and other public-private partnershipsand is committed to the physical and economic growth of the area as it is the only part of the capital able to sustain the massive requirement for jobs and housing as the remit is delivered.
It is represented by 11 local authorities on both sides of the river in East London, and by eight local universities, the local Learning and Skills Council and the Strategic Health Authority. It is a strategic and lobbying organisation and not a delivery body - delivery is carried out by other agencies, our partner boroughs, companies in the private sector and other public bodies.
