The Clean tech cluster, led by Cambridge University, provides a skilled workforce and many spin-out companies.
Cutting edge solar energy technology is currently being developed in Cambridge undertaken by Cambridge University researchers. The technology is still at a very early stage of development, but has already received a second tranche of major government funding. Initial funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) of around £160k has now been extended to £1.6 million, providing enough funding for another three years
