Luton - Infrastructure
Connections By Road
Luton is in a unique position, offering easy connectivity by road, rail and air to major business hubs in the UK and in Europe. Luton is located on Junction 10 of the newly widened M1 motorway and minutes from the M25. The A1 and A5 dual carriageways are also a few minutes away.
The proposed M1-A5 road northern bypass will provide a direct route link from the A5 north of Dunstable to the M1 via two newly constructed junctions.
The East Luton Corridor provides a direct link from London Luton Airport to the M1. There are also current proposals to improve Junction 10a of the M1 which will provide quick and congestion free routes into Luton town centre and London Luton Airport.
The Luton-Dunstable Busway is a guided busway currently under development and due for completion in 2013. The busway will provide fast and reliable connections to the town centres of Luton, Dunstable, Houghton Regis and Luton Airport Parkway station and the Airport itself.
