East Lindsey Housing Development
Housing Development
The housing partnership delivering the project to create 400 new homes has reached its target, upon completion of the Wellington Street housing development in Louth. The project was backed by £4 million of funding from East Lindsey District Council and finance from the Homes and Communities Agency.
Upon success of the housing development in Wellington Street, which provided 316 new rental homes and 84 shared ownership homes, accommodating 1,500 people, East Lindsey District Council has decided to invest an additional £1.1 million towards the development of a further 85 homes.
So far the project has achieved multiple benefits, including supporting the local economy by implementing 42 new housing schemes in 23 different locations throughout East Lindsey, employing local workers on all sites.
These developments attracted over £11 million of government funding into the district, and the new development, led by New Linx and Waterloo, is due to be completed by December 2012. Construction work on 32 of these homes is already underway.
