Prospects for investment in Lincolnshire look poised to rocket over the next few years, as Lincolnshire authorities continue to develop the region as a competitive base for businesses. Following the success of the Gainsborough regeneration scheme, which saw the transformation of the town centre in order to facilitate pedestrian traffic, a £2 million pound project has similarly been announced to rejuvenate Boston’s historic market place.

Quick City Connections

Lincoln City is also preparing to improve its infrastructure, with permission secured for a new east-west road through the city, which will help facilitate the expected population growth.

 Property Development in Lincolnshire

Business property across the county can also look forward to new investment, with two new major business developments in the region already in progress, and more on the horizon. Construction on Teal Park in Lincoln is planned to take place between the spring of 2011 until the summer of 2012. The 80-acre site will provide a competitive site for businesses to situate offices, and Siemens has already confirmed that they will be locating in the park.

Station Approach is situated opposite Grantham Railway station, and will be a mixed-use development set over four hectares, including office, industrial and retail space as well as a hotel and an innovation and incubation centre.

Major Tourism Investment

Already responsible for £958 million annually, and set to receive further tourism related investment, Lincolnshire authorities are aiming to increase the number of visitors in the region by exploiting the region’s touristic advantages.

Housing one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta, Lincoln plans to showcase this historic document in a new exhibition centre to be constructed at the castle site by 2015. Lincolnshire County Council is also set to embark on a new project to support the arts and the Lincolnshire coastline.

Following the success of the 2006 Bathing Beauties project, Structures on the Edge will present new lookouts and features across the ten-mile stretch of the Lincolnshire coast between Chapel St. Leonards and Mablethorpe. This will provide ambitious architects and artists the opportunity to redefine the public perception of the land where sea meets sand, and is expected to be a major draw for tourists.

Investing in Lincolnshire’s Future

With the Lincolnshire County Council making these comprehensive moves to support business investment in Lincolnshire across all sectors, the future of investment seems bright for the county.
