West Black Sea Development Agency
Key Competitive Attractions
The West Black Sea region is composed of three provinces; Zonguldak, Bartin and Karabuk with a total population of approximately one million individuals. The region is rich in natural resources such as iron, aluminium, manganese, barite, dolomite, limestone, quartzite, schieferton fields and coal. Due to being a highly forested area, wood products are key to the regional economy. The economy has also started to diversify into textiles.
Tourism is a major source of income for the region. It is home to Safranbu, a World Heritage City, and many caves and plateaus mentioned in mythology, such as Kdz. Eregli and Filyos.
Assistance and Support For New Business Investors
The West Black Sea Development Agency was established in order to administer support to potential investors. They operate across separate investment offices in each of the three provinces. They are primarily concerned with ensuring that investors receive the advice and access to funding they need.
