Key Competitive Attractions
Cukurova is a Turkish region composed of two provinces; Mersin and Adana. Mersin is the largest Mediterranean port in Turkey, and the site of a large oil refinery. Adana is a major agricultural region, and provides approximately one third of Turkey’s peanut and orange crop.
Due to its advantageous position and its major port, the region is considered a logistics hub. Adana has also capitalized on the presence of natural gas and crude oil. There are three major universities located in the region, with a total of 42,000 students.
Assistance and Support For New Business Investors
The work of the Cukurova Regional Development Agency is largely undertaken from investment support offices in Mersin. The primary duty of these offices is to ensure that investors receive access to permits and licenses. They are the primary point of contact for investors to the region.
