Europe/ Turkey/ Central Anatolia/ Ahiler Development Agency

Key Competitive Attractions

The Ahiler Development Agency covers the provinces of Aksaray, Kirikkale, Kirsehir, Nigde and Nevsehir. The area benefits from good infrastructure due to the proximity of the capital, Ankara, and the popularity of Cappadocia as a tourist destination.

Cappadocia, mainly located in the Nevsehir Province, is widely recognised for its exceptional natural beauty and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ancient name of Cappadocia does not refer to any existing administrative boundaries but is used largely for promotion purposes.

Nigde benefits from nutritious volcanic soil and is rich in agricultural products, in particular apples and potatoes. Other products include cabbage, grain, sugar beet, meat and dairy, honey and trout.

Kirikkale is home to a growing industrial centre. Its rapid growth is due to the establishment of some of the largest steel mills in the country. The mills specialise, for the most part, in high-quality alloy steel and machinery. The province is also home to chemical plants.

Aksaray is a centre for the automotive industry. To date, the biggest foreign investor is Mercedes-Benz. Italian Imer Group and Kuwaiti Symex are invested in the production of trucks and semi trailers. The province is also home to textile factories and mining operations.

Assistance and Support For New Business Investors

The Ahiler Development Agency is tasked with coordinating the development strategy of the region. It is a potential source of funding and technical support to foreign investors. Each of the provinces has individual investment support offices.
