Murcia City is the 7th largest city in Spain, and the capital of the Murcia region with a population of over 430,000 inhabitants, and almost 640,000 people residing in its metropolitan area.
Murcia is a major agricultural player, supplying lettuces, tomatoes, lemons and oranges for much of the European market. Approximately 100,000 acres are devoted to vineyards, creating a prosperous wine production industry.
