Oviedo is the capital city of the Asturias region in northern Spain. It is also regarded as the administrative and commercial centre of the region. Oviedo is home to the Oviedo University, which produces a high quality local workforce and also attracts many students from overseas.
Communications:
- Road: Direct access to three national highways (N-634, N-632, N-630) and two motorways (A-8, A-66) provide efficient links to Spain's major cities, and to the surrounding countries of France and Portugal as well.
- Air: Asturias Airport has direct flights to and from major European Airports, including Bareclona, London, Madrid and Brussels.
- Rail: Daily national trains to other Spanish cities such as Madrid, Bareclona and Alicante.
