The region of Sumadija and Pomoravlje is located in the centre of Serbia. It is home to about 526,213 inhabitants. The largest city in the region is Kragujevac.

The majority of companies operate within the sub-sectors of food and drink production, metal products, paper products, publishing, wood products, non-metallic minerals and textiles. Kragujevac has a long history as a car manufacturer. The Yugo model or Zastava Koral was originally produced in the city. Fiat has recently made a major investment in the region, which is hoped to breathe new life into the industry.
