The municipality and city of Sabac is located in northwestern Serbia, in close proximity to the country’s two main urban centres: Belgrade and Novi Sad. The municipality has a population of 122,320.
The main industries in Sabac include wood processing and upholstery, food, metal processing, leather, cosmetics, paper and textiles. The area also has very fertile agricultural land.
Much of the area’s industry is located in the Northwest Industrial Zone. The zone covers 921 ha, of which 400 are owned by Sabac municipality. Foreign investors are largely from the Veneto region, in Italy.
