Jablanica and Pcinja are the two most southern districts of Central Serbia. The combined population is estimated at 374,000. The biggest cities are Leskovac and Vranje.
The most important industries in Leskovac are chemicals, textiles, wood products and metals. Major foreign investors include Zdravlje Activas, Rukis element, Interlemind AD, Idea, Porr Werner & Weber, Sight, Sonder Jansen and Nevena AD.
The economy of Vranje is based on mining, construction, agriculture and forestry. Some of the biggest factories produce tobacco or furniture.
