Located in the north-east of Poland, Warmian-Masurian is the fourth largest Voivodeship in Poland. It borders Russia in the north, and the Baltic sea in the west. Over 1.4 million people live in the region, and Olsztyn, the capital city of the region, is home to over 175,000 people.
Tourism is an important industry in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, as the region has approximately two thousand lakes. The Voivodeship benefits from this high concentration of lakes and water sports facilities, along with neo-gothic and baroque architecture and a rich cultural heritage. Approximately three million tourists visit the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship each year, of which one third is foreign tourists and the other two are domestic.
High-tech industries such as turbine manufacture (Alstom) and electronics (LG) supported by the Elblag Technology Park have made manufacturing and processing growth industries in the region. Michelin is the largest employer, with a tire factory in Olsztyn. Food processing, wood products and machinery are all key regional sectors. Manufacturing is further supported by the Warmian-Masurian Special Economic Zone, comprising nineteen subzones throughout the region, and offering substantial incentives and support to investors operating in these designated areas.

Invest in Warmia and Mazury is the Investment Assistance Centre serving the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Established by Invest in Poland, it was created to provide information about the investment opportunities in the region, as well as to promote the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship to foreign investors.
