The city Dabrowa Gornicza is located in the Silesian Voivodeship, 20 km from the regional capital of Katowice. It has a population of approximately 128,000.
Traditional industries include mining, steel and coke. In addition, services and food processing are also gaining importance for the local economy. Other industries include construction, glass, automotives, plastics and electronics. The dominant businesses are Arcelor Mittal (steel plant), Przyjazn Ltd (coking plant) and Bankowa Ltd (Steelworks).
