Key Competitive Attractions

Bytom is one of the largest cities in the Silesian Voivodeship with just under 190,000 residents. A former industrial city, with a long history of coal and steel manufacturing, the city has transformed itself into a regional centre of trade. The Market Square has the largest concentration of registered shop owners in all of Poland.

Bytom houses many of Poland’s major cultural attractions. The Silesian Opera, Dance Theatre, and the Kronika Centre of Modern Art are all found in the city. Bytom also has ten art galleries, and hosts four major festivals of art and culture annually.

The city also has two major universities – the University of Technology and the Medical University of Silesia.
