The county of Nysa is located in the Opole Voivodeship, in the south of Poland, near the border with the Czech Republic. The county has a population of ca. 146,000.
The area has a considerable industrial heritage. The cities of Nysa, Glucholazy and Paczkow are centres of production for metals, furniture, processed food and confectionary, textiles, paper and industrial equipment. The county is also known for its marble and stone quarries.
