One in four new companies in Poland establish themselves in Warsaw. Warsaw is also the chosen location for the headquarters of 30% of all companies in Poland with foreign capital.
Warsaw is the capital city of Poland, and its financial, administrative and economic centre. The city is home to the Stock Exchange and the headquarters of most of the banks operating in the country.
Warsaw’s biggest sector is business services, which increased by almost 50% between 2008 and 2010. Service centres with foreign capital in Poland employed approximately 70,000 people in 2010 (up from about 45,000 in 2008,) and are projected to be 75,500 by end of 2011.
Other strengths include clusters in BPO centres, IT firms, and R&D centres.
