Sogn og Fjordane County occupies the western part of Norway, bordering the North Sea. Its administrative centre is Leikanger.
The county council has experts in a wide range of industries, such as tourism, fisheries, agriculture and renewable energy, who can advise and support businesses, and county politicians to help create industrial policies.
Sogn og Fjordane’s main industries are hydroelectricity, aluminium, and agriculture. Tourism also contributes heavily to the region’s economy, thanks to the Urnes stave church and UNESCO world heritage site, Naeroyfjord.
The Sogn og Fjordane University College has campuses in Sogndal, Sandane, and Forde.
