Invitalia's services are organised into three key stages: Pre-Investment Information, Business Set-Up Support Services, and After Care Services. Below is a break down of each stage.
Pre-Investment Information:

- Tax system, legal system, fiscal system, workforce - information on the principals of Italian legislative system, with attention to tax, fiscal, and employment law
- Business climate - regional and national information in an economic and social context
- Incentives - information on investment incentives available in Italy
- Competitive benefits of investing in Italy - comprehensive overview of logistic infrastructures and communications, and competitive advantages of each area to help ascertain your opportune business base
- Project practicality - preliminary evaluation of the business idea to determine its practicality in terms of technical, financial and market feasibility, to give it the strongest start possible
- Quality of living and working in Italy - general summary of Italian living and working, including information on the national education system, research and development facilities, availability of highly educated workforce and specialists in your field
Business Set-Up Support Services:
- Permits for foreign investors - guidance with the completion of procedures to obtain permits

Italy can offer a compelling array of funding and aid schemes including Tax credits and R&D grants and loans to meet the needs of a range of business operations.
In recent years, Italy has been executing a vast reform of the Italian corporate tax system, with improvements being introduced on an annual basis:
- Reduction of corporate income tax rate to 27.5%
- Partial exemption of capital gains emerging from the discarding of qualified participations into Italian and foreign corporations (95% from 2008)
- Implementation of a joint taxation regime for Italian/foreign corporations affiliated with the same group to reinforce their tax base if the parent company resides in Italy
Financial Assistance/Grants
Financial assistance is offered under the auspices of either the EU (ERDF) or national and local bodies, in the shape of capital or operating grants.
Loans
Interest-rate subsidies (loans at interest below market rates) may be offered to SME’s as a form of financial assistance.
