Lyon will host the 2012 International Prix Galien Ceremony
Sep 6, 2011
Lyon has just been selected to host the next international Prix Galien award ceremony, the greatest distinction in pharmaceutical research.
A decision was announced during the 2010 ceremony, which took place on Wednesday 28 September in New York in the presence of Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary General of the United Nations, 7 Nobel prize winners, Bill Clinton, Philippe Douste-Blazy and representatives from ADERLY (Invest in Lyon), who were sponsoring the event in the context of their ONLYLYON promotional campaign.
This will enable Lyon to gather the world’s key pharmaceutical groups in 2012, thus boosting its international visibility in the pharma / biotech sector.
This choice can be explained by Lyon’s international renown in the pharmaceutical and biotechnologies sector, with its international competitive cluster for vaccines and life sciences, major pharmaceutical leaders, innovative SMEs and start-ups, numerous R&D projects and a structured network of actors.
