Champagne-Ardenne is located at the crossroads of several central road networks: the Channel Tunnel to Southern Europe; Paris to Germany and Eastern Europe; Germany to Southern Europe. These routes rarely have congestion problems; this creates optimum travel and transportation conditions.

The region has 1,000 km of motorways and dual carriage ways, and is one hour from Greater Paris and less than a 2-hour drive from central Paris, Brussels and Luxemburg.

The region is well served by the major European motorways: A4, A34, A5, A31and A26. Moreover, 75 % of Europe's GDP is produced within four hours by road from the region.

Champagne-Ardenne lies at the heart of the European TGV (high-speed trains) railroad network : 45 min from the centre of Paris, 30 min from Roissy-Charles de Gaulle International Airport, 1hr25 from Lille, 1hrs35 from Luxembourg, 1hrs50 from Strasbourg, 3hrs25 from Nantes, 3hrs30 from Bâle, 3hrs45 from Frankfurt.

It is also on the Paris-Basel mainline and on the Scandinavia-Rhine-Rhone-West Mediterranean "rail highway".

A new rail hub in Chalindrey also links eastern France to the North Sea ports of Le Havre and Rotterdam and to Marseilles on the Mediterranean.

Champagne-Ardenne is close to a number of international airports: Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Brussels National, Brussels South Charleroi and Luxembourg.

Paris-Vatry airport, situated in the Marne department, is the 4th largest French international freight airport and can accommodate all existing aircraft fleets. It is also a passenger airport and backs onto the outstanding Paris-Vatry logistics site.

  • Aube Port in Nogent-sur-Seine linked directly to Le Havre (for barges up to 1,000 tonnes)

Broadband / ICT Facilities

Champagne-Ardenne is making the necessary preparations to install a high-speed internet connection in all homes and businesses in the region. No date has yet been set for the completion of this project.
