Planned Developments
Bordeaux Euratlantique
Tourism & Leisure, Housing Development, Retail Development, Mixed Use Development, Major CommercialBordeaux Euratlantique is a large-scale sustainable development project, due for completion in 2030. The designated area covers 738 hectares and will see the development of 2.5 million square metres of land, providing office space, housing and public amenities.
The first phase will be completed between 2015 and 2019, and include the launch of the Saint Jean Belcier district. It will also be located in the immediate vicinity of the TGV (high-speed) train station. Targeted business sectors are services, financial services and ICT.
Completion Date: 2030The Bacalan Bastide Bridge
Road InfrastructureWith an investment of €117 million, the Bacalan Bastide Bridge development will be the Garonne River`s fifth bridge.
This lifting bridge will exemplify the dedication of the council to restore the river to its former glory, designed to optimise the river`s potential as a significant communication link.

Housing DevelopmentWith a budget of €106 million, this extensive development project will cover four areas, providing accommodation for 65,000 residents, and renewing the Right Bank of the Garonne. To see the full Communication and Strategy Plan, click here.
Completion Date: 12/2011High speed Southern Europe Atlantic Train Line (LGV SEA)
Rail InfrastructureThis new development will include a rail link that will reduce the journey time between Bordeaux and Paris to just 2 hours and 30 minutes in 2010, with further plans set to reduce the time again to just 2 hours by 2016. Plans are also underway to create a link from Bordeaux to Madrid in just 4 hours.

Major CommercialThis project will increase the attractiveness of the City and the River Garonne, making the area a major focal point and hub for business opportunity.
