The Usti region is also known as Usti nad Labem, named after the capital city established in the 13th century. The Usti region is located in the north west of the Czech Republic, and shares a border with Germany. The total area of the region is 5,335 km sq, and 843,462 people live there.
Usti is home to a multi-award winning industrial zone known as the Triangle Industrial Zone. In total, there are 29 industrial zones established across Usti, and 24 production halls. The industrial zones have been established by the regional council of Usti in order to foster manufacturing businesses. The production halls are a way for the regional council to draw attention to unutilized space which may be of interest to investors. More information about these initiatives may be found under funding and support.
The historical background of the Usti region is of primary importance to residents, and the local economy. Tourism is a major sector, and much of this comes from the maintenance of historical buildings.
