Key Competitive Attractions

Pardubice is a region in the Czech Republic with 452 municipalities. Over 500,000 people live in the Pardubice region, an area of 4,519 km sq. The capital of the region is also called Pardubice, and the area is characterised by a wide variety of landscapes, including the Zelezne and Orlicke mountains, and many forests.

The Pardubice region houses the largest chemical industry in all of the Czech Republic. Industrial production is the cornerstone of the local economy, characterised by engineering, textiles, clothing, and leather production. Over sixty per cent of the land in Pardubice is agricultural land, and, as a result, the food and drink production sector is well represented.

A major European railway corridor runs through Pardubice, arriving from Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Austria. This ready availability of rail and air links into the region makes it a prime spot for foreign investment.
