Situated on the western coast of the country, and an integral part of the Black Sea economy, the Varna region receives the second largest volume of foreign direct investment after Sofia.
With the lowest unemployment rate in Bulgaria, and the fifth highest per capita in the country, Varna offers a stable, attractive and promising business location.

The maritime industry of the region is integral to the economy, with exports in various goods. More than 50,000 tons of food, wine and tobacco products are produced each year, the major products being tinned fruit and vegetables, dairy products, soft drinks, sugar, salt, and beer.
The chemical complex in Devnya has attracted a large cluster of chemicals companies, providing 16 % of Bulgaria’s chemical industry output.
