Key Competitive Attractions
Bolivia is located at the heart of the South American continent and has vast untapped agricultural and mining resources.
Agricultural products include corn, cotton, sugar cane, soybeans, sunflower, tropical fruits, coffee and cocoa. There is also potential for products like garlic, asparagus, quinoa and amaranth, which benefit from off-season market advantages. Food production also includes livestock and fish.
The country is rich in gold, silver, platinum and semi-precious stones, some of which can only be found in Bolivia. It is estimated that only 10% of the existing mineral reserves have been exploited.
Other industries and business sectors include textiles, leather, jewellery, wood products, oil, tourism and financial services.
Bolivia is member of Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), the Andean Community (CAN) and has an associate membership in the Common Southern Market (MERCOSUR).
