Key Competitive Attractions

Swaziland is a landlocked country and is bordered on all sides by the Republic of South Africa. The country has good infrastructure and is linked by rail and road to the Durban and Richards Bay seaports in South Africa and Maputo in Mozambique.

Principal agricultural products include sugar, citrus fruits, maize, cotton, wood and livestock. The sector is a major export earner and contributor to GDP. Swaziland is also endowed with important mineral deposits including diamonds, coal, kaolin, silica, ball clays, barite and gold. Swaziland is a popular weekend and conference venue, and tourism is based on short stays and the attraction of casino hotels.

The country offers fully serviced industrial sites and purpose-built factory shells for rental at competitive rates. In addition, an inland dry port has been established to allow the operation of hassle-free customs clearing at the Matsapha Industrial Estate in Swaziland.
