Key Competitive Attractions

The economy of Guinea is based primarily on the export and processing of minerals. The country sits on an estimated quarter of the world’s proven reserves of bauxite.  It also holds a significant amount of high-grade iron ore, diamond and gold deposits. In addition, unexplored uranium deposits are potentially very extensive. The biggest export earner comes from bauxite mining and aluminium production.

Apart from mining, the export of coffee is also a significant commodity, but the country’s agricultural and fishing potential remain generally under-exploited, despite good conditions. Foreign investments outside the capital of Conakry are principally entitled to favourable terms.
