Key Competitive Attractions

Angola recorded one of the fastest rates of GDP growth in the world between 2001 and 2010. The growth was fuelled predominantly by the export of oil. Angola is now the largest supplier of oil imports to China and a major supplier to the United States.

Angola also holds significant diamond reserves, the majority of which remains unexplored. Other significant mining activities include feldspar, bauxite, uranium, iron and gold. Fisheries and agriculture has also attracted a limited amount of foreign investment.

Angola has signed bilateral investment treaties with Portugal, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.

Assistance and Support For New Business Investors

Angola National Agency of Private Investment (ANIP) offers sector analysis, investment information and helps to identify business opportunities. A project analyst is normally assigned as key contact between the foreign enterprise and relevant Angolan ministries during the proposal review period.
